This track is special (they're all special haha) because this is a project that I started in 2016 (the only project in this ep that started years ago). This track was originally named "(Barely) Breathing" which is dramatic and I don't know why that was the name of the project/track at the time lol This was a track that got me back into experimenting with production. It was intimidating, but Mars Kasei helped with ableton lessons years later and helped to expand on this track with me. It has elements of dark wave dream pop tribal bass sounds and influenced by the powerpuff girls- particularly the villains and even more particularly, the character Him. This track helped me spill into further self exploration through sound, and this is a track that I first made when I got myself the cracked ableton 9 years ago lol this song is a building block + milestone for me and encompasses some of my many personalities. It's so nice diving back into a track and completing it after being scared off for several years. I also released this track as a single on soundcloud about a year ago, but because I released it while I was on a social media hiatus, it did not get so much attention. so this is me reintroducing this sound again <3
This album is such a fun combination of styles and and immensely satisfying listen. Danceable with plenty of room to breathe and helps me focus too. Glad I got the cassette bc it sounds extra gooey. Can't wait to hear more from Xyla :) caramobazgo
